I am trying to find a way to activate the remote backlight on a TX 1000 by simply touching the LCD screen. URC tech support says that it is not possible. Has anyone found a work around for this? My customer is up in age and has trouble remembering where the light button is in his dark theater.

That remote has a dedicated back light button, so to answer your question....Not Possible.
