Universal has begun shipping 433MHz products, specifically:
MX3000i
MX900i
MRF350i
RFX250i
MSC400i
Same retail as 418 product.

I used a 433Mhz MX-3000 and RFX-250 where a 418 Mhz setup was showing bad interference. The 418 showed RF almost everywhere I placed it in the equip closet. Just for grins I set it right in the back of the rack where the RF light was lit solid all of the time. Obviously I couldn't get a single command through.
I plugged in the 433 RFX-250 to the same MRF-350 base and set the RFX-250 in the back of the rack. Not a flicker of RF, moved it all around the closet without the slightest flicker anywhere. Every button push was recognised and I haven't heard from the customer about it since.

Have been using the 433Mhz stuff for a few weeks now. works really well where 418 didnt. Im glad they have done this.
Now lets get the MX950 and MX810 with the same freq

Hmm. Wonder how feasible a 418/433 switch would be? Or maybe replaceable crystals like radio control...

We were one of the beta testers for the 433mhz. All I can say is it works for some situations and not others. URC came to one of our problem locations with their RF analyzer and there was interference everywhere. In this situation narrowband 418 worked better than 433 (including RTI) because the interference was worse at 433.
Other locations the opposite is true. I asked about being able to switch frequencies in the remote and base stations between 418 and 433. There were a number of reasons but essentially it is not practical at the moment for them to have this capability without GREATLY affecting the cost.
Well at least we have a choice if one doesn't work we can try the other. I'd like to see some reasonably costing sniffer that can tell us RF levels at those frequencies without having to spend thousands on a good analyzer.

Just a bit of info. This was touched on already, but existing 418 products such as the MRF 300/350 & MSC 400 call all be switched out to a 433 by simply switching the RFX antenna with an RFX 250i. Of course, you'll need a "i" designated remote...obviously.

The MRF-300 WILL work with the RFX-250i. The 250i is the 433Mhz receiver and can be used on an MRF-300. This is the reason they went to a spereate RF receiver that plugs into the base, so units can be upgraded to better RF later.
I am using an MRF-300 with the RFX-250i and an MX-3000e at home and it works great.
