I've had it for a year, and have picked it up and put it down 10 times without having the time and patience to progam it. I even bought BRacken's DVD program and never got it up and running. The novelty of trying to program it has worn off.

I am currently using an MX 800 and don't have any unusual equipment. Anyone interested in helping out at a reasonable fee, please send me an email. Thanks. Alternatively, I'll trade it for a 950 with an appropriate adjustment. I also have an MX-700 and MX-650 not currently being used--

You can email me a list of ALL of your equipment with specific make and model information, the exact configuration of inputs and outputs (analog audio, digital audio, video, zone assignments, etc...), The exact configuration of the URC system (direct line of sight IR, RF system, IR repeater w/hidden components, plasma interference, remote version and serial number, etc...) and whatever else you may deem important and I will at least take a look. I will either have more questions, accept or reject.

Rich_Guy might be able to do it, of coarse he would only charge a reasonable fee as anyone can do this stuff.

I emailed him...

He said he was interested...

I said I could do it....

Said it would be a couple of weeks....

Told him what info I needed....

Told him what I could provide for him...

Gave him a ballpark that I would refine once the details were clear...

Gave him a very realistic outlook on the project and costs...

Said I could not be responsible for equipment failures and configuration goofs...

Said I would back up the quality of my work...

...I spent some time giving it a pro consideration....

D*mn... he did not even respond to tell me no thanks.

That tells me more than any words... I hope no one else took the bait!

Couple of weeks?? He may have been looking for a more simple remote setup than you have in mind?

Or didn't realize how much work it takes to create a decent config - even a simple one - and have it work right - done by a qualified individual - and therefore was shocked at the price.

Some don't see the value in a competitive price quote (as we all well know, right?)

OR, he's on vacation with an old flame from high school???

His configuration was not exactly simple ...

Rear pro TV
DirectTivo
Combo dvd/vcr on 2 inputs
400 disc changer
X-10 lighting
Older Yamaha HTR??? receiver using speaker B for outdoor
5 Cd changer
Dlink Media link server

and I prefer to do it right the first time.

I don't know about you, but I am busy. I am finishing several programming jobs and I have 3 or 4 I need to start. Oh, and I have numerous proposals to get out.... and I have several jobs to run, and to order, and to install, and calls to field and.... :)

At least I am getting in on some vacation time next week!!!

My apologies. I must have been tired and assumed you meant weeks of programming time :)

And no, that is not a simple system. In fact, it might even be cheaper to buy a new receiver with zone 2 and an abundance of discreets than to try to program a good system for that as is.

I was not exactly dissapointed that it did not go any further. It looked like a PIA.

Whenever someone says "...older..." or "...combo player..." or "...X-10..." I start to slither backwards. I do not think one could charge enough to take on the potential issues and headaches.
