I have an element model ELDFT321. I tried and tried to program my directv remote for it with no success. If you go to elementelectronics.com there is an update available for certain models. Mine of course one of the models that needed it. Once the tv was updated i used the 10178 and it worked. You have to unzip the file to a usb that is totally empty. Follow the instructions and you should have success.

My brother just bought a 37" LCD TV from Circuit City. The brand name is Element. I've never heard of Element before, so I'm assuming it's some sort of house brand. Does anyone happen to know who makes this set for them, or what codes might work?

I inherited this TV a (Element) from my son because he could not make the remote work so a little help on this site helped out. Programming to Comcast the two codes they had for Element did not work. Link to Comcast [Link: customer.comcast.com] So I tried the comments left here in this page.
"Tv uses old Emerson Tv Codes"
So I selected Emerson and it worked the first time

10236

Emerson =10236 Also = Element Brand 10236

For Comcast X1 Platform
Program your Comcast remote X1 platform Remote model is the XR2

1 Turn on the TV you are programming.
2 Press and hold the "Setup" button on your remote the All Power button changes from red to green.
3 Type in the 5-digit code using the number buttons.
Most likely code 10236 for Element Brand
4 If the code is entered correctly, the All Power button should flash green twice. If the green light emits one long flash, repeat steps 2 and 3 entering the same code.
5 Use the remote to operate your TV (use Power, VOL, etc..)
6 If these steps don’t work, look for another code and repeat the above.
