I am expanding a system and it became necessary to add a second MSC 400 in slave to have enough outputs. I set it up according to the tutorial. The master is using RF ID #1 and 2 and the slave is #3 and 4. I checked the box to use port 12 for slave on both. I have connected the two MSC's with both cables as described in the guide. I don't get any output from the slave but the master still works fine. BTW, I also programmed the MX 950 to use the slave as well. What am I missing?

Is the 1st MSC-400 older? There are some that don't properly send the RF out. There is a work around. Make a jumber cable from the RF in on the master and connect it to the RF in on the slave. DO NOT connect the 5V! Only the signal and ground between the two units.

Hope this helps.

Can I just switch around the master and slave? Because the master is about a year old and the slave is new.

I'd say try it. If it doesn't work try my suggestion. I can't remember but I thought there was a reason it didn't work in reverse either.
