All of the Plasma models seem to missing Inputs 5 & 6 for almost all of the Pioneer Plasma models in URC's database. It's strange because Pioneer's website not only has all the IR, RS-232, Pronto files, etc, they also have .mxf files of most of their models with the proper codes.

Can someone at URC explain why they don't catch things like this? I am talking only about inputs 5 and 6 (which happen to be HDMI inputs)

Thanks,
VB

I just checked the 850 & 900 IR database(s).
The Elite models are listed for both although the Pioneer models are not. The inputs are the same for all of last years models except the 1080p PRO-FHD1.
By the way, some of the URC mxf files on the Pioneer CI pages are "learned" as opposed to from the database. They have all been tested and work just fine.
If this helps the plasma model equivalents are as follows:
42" - Pioneer PDP-4280HD / Elite PRO-940HD
50" - Pioneer PDP-5080HD / Elite PRO-1140HD (listed in db as PDP-1140)
60" - Pioneer PDP-6080HD / Elite PRO-1540HD (listed in db as PDP-1540)

I don't have the codes for new panels that are just starting to ship but as soon as I do they will be posted on the Pioneer CI pages and will be shared with URC.
Receivers will be posted soon.
They call me the "Thread Killer". Just watch!

Thanks to all for the help. URC contacted me and were very helpful in helping to identify what they have. For any models that you can't find a discrete input for, either use another model that URC has OR you can get a ccf or even mxf file from Pioneer's website. I downloaded the ccf for the PDP-4270 for Inputs 5-6 even though I could have probably used the other models URC had for inputs.

Thanks,
Vincent

Hi Vincent,

I'm not sure what database version you have, but the PDP-4270 is in the current IR database, including Inputs 5 & 6.

To all , my apologies, The URC database is indeed updated with INPUTS 5 & 6 - my mistake. Sorry about the confusion, I was using an older version on my laptop, which wasn't quite updated.

I have a hunch that the Pioneer PRO-FHD1 codes might work on the new Pioneer plasmas.

The is an input 7 on the PDP 5080HD. Did you guys ever consider teaching the commands to the remote? These are learning remotes. What is the big deal?

Shoe, some of the necessary codes, such as discrete on/off aren't always available on the original remotes, even though they exist, so they have to be derived or obtained elswhere. Otherwise it's always very easy to grab the original remote and learn code from that remote.
