I've been having a good bit of trouble out of the newer Yamaha DVD players, mostly the DVD-S659 & DVD-S1700. It seems the learned codes (from either DVD player remote) respond VERY poorly to IR OR RF commands. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

This problem persists even into some RTi controllers we use (namely the T4 and T3). I went so far as to swap a DVD-S1700 for a Denon DVD2910 in a conference room just so they could watch some instructional videos for the weekend.

ANYWAY...Just wanted to see if anyone else was having similar problems and see if there are any known fixes. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

>Wes

We use Yamaha stuff all the time without issues. With the mx-850, what codeset are you using? I found the codes for the DVD-2300II work the best, which also includes discrete on and off.

ive used both without problems (NOTE Fingers and toes crossed)

I did however create a new file for both RTI and URC.

I'd say the file is corrupt. There are bad files in the RTI MEgalist. I know one of the comcast 6412 files is screwed up with poorly captured codes

Hey guys,

Thanks for the quick response. Going back to the jobs after a few days of rest, I found the problem to be RF. To me it seems like there's more interference in the world today. Maybe its just me...The DVD-2300 codes worked fine as well. I dunno what the hell was wrong when I tried them IR a few days ago.

I think my main problem is that I'm trying to do some of the sales, type out all proposals and work on setting up the controllers usually at the house after work. Too much. I also don't transition well from URC, RTi & ELAN. Blah blah blah...I'll stop bitching.

Thanks again guys!
