I need to get a replacement cable as well. What's the cable listed under at this site. Tried looking under cables and didn't see it.

Thanks

THANKS! leather9917.
I've been looking for this cable for years. Long-time ago the OEM sent me the wrong cable, I gave-up the search and put away the remote. I forgot about it until today. Ha ha. Thanks again.

Minolta Dimage cable works. They can be had for $5 on eBay.

I just tried to call http://www.securitystoreusa.com
They needed a part number to look and see if they even still had one.
Anybody got a part number? How about a CLOSE-UP photo?
Pinout? Could I swap the USB mini from my broken one to put in the one I just bought off ebay?
Just found this one:[Link: ebay.com]
Looks like it might work.

Bought that one for a Minolta Dimage camera, doesn't fit.
Still need a good link to a USB adapter kit or a cable that FOR SURE will work.
Please don't post if you have not actually purchased one and it worked.
This is NOT a USB A to USB mini like the new MX3000 uses.

I posted just because you said not to.

I just ended up with one of these junk version. Be careful, I might just put it up on eBay to pass it off to someone else.

I have yet another MX-3000 that has a pin much like the one you need and I do have a cable that works for it. I suspect the previous owner broke the outside of the connector to make it fit. It fits really loose and the cable that I have seems to fit the pins and in the correct order. It works.

I can't image there is a third cable set up, but I have what looks like three different ones. One is the standard mini USB that is so common, another much like what you need and a third that is very close but not the exact same. I will have to look closer at the latter two to see if they actually are the same and one was "modified".

My cable looks very much like your Minolta cable. I had to modify mine slightly to get it to work and it fits and works very well now. If you turn the cable over the black plastic side, you will see three ribs; two outer ribs and one thicker center rib. Take a X-acto knife or very sharp razor and carefully trim down the three ribs flush with the rest of the connector.

The plastic side should be face up and the metal side face down when you plug it in.  I took pictures of mine but I can't figure out how to include them in this post without a URL of them.

Actually, it does work, I have used that cable personally. Not sure what you bought, however.

I think there at least 3 Dimage cable types, so I bought the wrong one, obviously.
If the link from Fishpond doesn't work, try searching for this cable:
Aeon Cable USB Mini (Type Mini 4pA) 1.5m
That may work better, and it IS the right cable, works perfectly, $8.95 USD.

I have a MX-980, which I got quite a few years ago and have lost the plug that came with it. I tried using a standard USB to mini cable but it didn't work. I'm wondering if the my old remote needs a proprietary plug that only URC has. Anyone know?

The MX-980 uses a standard USB to mini, you likely aren't getting the driver to load when you connect it.
