Hi. The MX 3000 has a proprietary USB programming cable. I lost mine. Does anyone here have one for sale? I called Universal, those cables are on backorder, and they do not know when they will receive any!

It's not a proprietary cable...I lost mine a while ago and use the one from my digital camera...works great. It's just a standard usb to mini usb cable.

If you have a really early generation MX3000 it is possible that you have an old proprietary cable that they used to use and that's going to be tough to come by. The change to the standard USB to Mini USB cable was one of those in-line changes that URC made.

In the past I've searched to even find the connector used by this special cable, however I was unable to do so. I believe I found something very similar, but the keying was different.

Forget about trying to find the cable unless you want to call URC. They will have one. I searched for the cable end for one I had and never found one. Your other option would be to replace the socket on the remote and use the newer style.

I did call URC that was the point of the post. Replacing the socket would involve taking the remote apart, knowing thier proprietary pin-out, soldering, etc. Can anyone help here?

Were you ever able to get instructions on how to change the socket? I'm interested in upgrading mine too. THX

How long ago did you call them? They had the cables not that long ago. Their phone tech support blows chunks. You have to talk to the parts people to get them to send you one. I will see if I can dig up the number when I get home tonight.

Cable is available at URC. Contact or send email support dept and request to be forwarded to service dept.

Cable is $15 + tax.

PM me ....If you're having hard time to get response from them. I'll email you an email address, email who can make things move at URC.

Does anybody have the pinout for the early connector? I would like to replace the one in mine. I have another device I can rob one from.

Thanks,
Matt

I ordered one for my client earlier this summer. It was a 30 second conversation and I received it 2 business days later. I thought the phone support was as good as it needed to be.

THANKS! leather9917.
I've been looking for this cable for years. Long-time ago the OEM sent me the wrong cable, I gave-up the search and put away the remote. I forgot about it until today. Ha ha. Thanks again.
