When I program my MX-850's I tend to put the client selectable sources on the main page 1, while putting sources that the client doesn't need direct contol over but I need the IR codes for (i.e. TV source codes) on main page 2 ... then I use the hide feature for page 2. I find this limits exposed codes to easily confused clients.
I'm trying to do something similar with the MX-900 but since I'm not finding the hide feature I'm finding it difficult to accomplish this.
The cool thing about the MX-900, is that you can use a "press and hold" macro to get to the hidden page(s). For example, press the Cable button momentarily and it flips to the Cable page, but hold the button and it flips to your hidden page.
The MX-850 has press-and-hold macros too. Too assign two different pages to one label, you can set the device page with the momentary press as the device itself, and then put a two step macro with the first being a delay and the second being a jump to hidden page.
do you guys know of a downloadable example program so I can see both of the examples you are describing? I pretty much get what both of you are describing , just easier for me to to see in program form. It seems one of these methods may be an alternate way for me to solve a different issue I've been trying to work out .... 2nd zone volume control on source pages without giving up source lcd buttons. ..... but thats a whole other story for a different thread
