I just received a new MX-950 remote. I installed the battery, placed it on the charger and the display came on and correctly showed the default button labels. After leaving the remote on the charger for several hours, I removed it to begin programming and found that the whenever I remove the remote from the charger, the display immediately goes dark and button pushes to not bring the display back. Thinking that the battery might be defective, my supplier sent me a new battery to try. This had the same results - display only works when it is on the charger. I tried pushing the little reset button, but that did not work either. Is there anything else that I should try, or is this one a lost cause?

Sorry for cross-posting, but I could not figure out how to delete the thread from the other forum.

Sounds like, if not actually the battery, then it's the contacts inside the battery compartment that aren't working. I just tested and the MX-950 *will* work in the charger without a battery.

Sounds like a problem with the battery contacts, but you can also try a full reset on the device and see if anything changes.

Hold down Listen and Enter, there is a menu option to force a reset to factory defaults.
Choose Factory, Yes, Yes for a complete wipe and reset.

I tried the force to factory defaults. Since I am getting no display with the remote off of the charger, I did the reset with the remote in the charger. I was able to complete the reset process, but when I remove the remote from the charger, the display still immediately goes blank and will not come back on.
