Ok, I have been trying to get the RS-232 protocol for two SONY TVs I’m trying to control with the MSC-400. I already tried the dumb people at SONY’s tech support with no luck at all; the most I get is someone telling me I can not control my TV from my PC. I also called URC and they told me that whatever codes that were not on the database I should call the manufacturer. Is there a database for RS-232 protocols? How do you get your codes? Is it always this painful to get the codes form the manufacturer?

Please help!!!!!!

Often times, there's a place where you can download technical documents on the code protocols from the manufacturer web-site. Sometimes requires Dealer Login.

Sony does not have an RS232 port on their TV's. Therefore, they do not have RS232 protocl available. Your TV must have a RS232 port in order for you to utilize RS232 coding.
