Hi all
I have a mx850 in use and am very happy with this remote. I mastered the software more or less and was able to program it to the satisfaction of my wife, which is important of course.
Now I want to buy a second unit and wonder whether I should go for the 900 or buy another 850. Also can I easily convert MXD (850) files to the 900 format??

Can I have your opinions please? Thanks in advance!
Dick

If you are happy with the 850, stay with it.
If you are looking at a 900, then I would say go for the 950(more text per LCD button, varible capacity, etc.).

Hi Dick,

I too was looking at the 850 & 900. Once I started looking deeper into the remotes, I really wanted the 950 although the cost was crazy. In the end I purchased the 900 and am very happy with my decision.

It has been mentioned by URC reps that the 900 will eventually get variables, so other than the charger and a few other minor features the 900 will eventually be a very close to the 950 and is already a GREAT remote.

Sorry, but I can't really comment on the ease of transferring the programs.

Exact same situation here; I had had an MX-700 for a few years, has a new need for RF and bought an MX-850. I almost immediately replaced it with an MX-900 and have been very happy; I couldn't justify the extra $$ for the 950.

There is no way to get an MX-850 config loaded into and MX-900; they are very different beasts (layout, buttons, etc). With all the added features of the MX-900 you might as well start from scratch.
