I'll make this very short. My MX-900 has "issues" when I use it to adjust the volume up or down on my Krell integrated KAV-400xi (* note - I use vol up and vol down interchangebly in this post). Specifically, one touch of the button *can* send the volume up 2-3 incriments. Then again, it *may* only send it up one.
I have already tried learning the code from Krell's remote. I've tried pushing the button on the Krell remote several times while learning. I tried pushing it once, very quick. I tried holding it down.
I also tried inserting a pause before the vol up command. And a pause after the vol up command. I even tried all the separate Krell vol up and vol down codes from other Krell products.
Krell's crappy little remote doesn't do this, and I won't take it from a $450 remote (MX-900). Does anyone know a work-around?

Okay I'll give this a shot. First, if you can find a code in the library that works - delete the learned commands. Learned commands are never as good as the library ones. Try some different Krell models if needed to find your vol buttons.
Now that you have the command, open up the IR Database navigator and find the Krell device. (Tools --> IR database navigator) Notice the repeat tick- box. change this to 1 and drag the volume buttons over to your remote. Normally 3 is the ideal number here, but your amp may like 1 or 2 better.
Best of luck -Zeke

Dude, I've been dealing with Krell for years on this. We're Krell dealers, and I've dealt with every possible tic and idiom of the Krell stuff, especially in conjunction with URC. I'll tell you what you gotta do. As was partially suggested by ZMass, get rid of your learned codes. They won't ever do what you want them to do (for Krell stuff). Now use IRDB codeset AUDIO>KRELL>KAV-400xi (376). Now. Before you drop codes, we need to set this up so that it'll work just how you want it. On the remote view, highlight one of the VOL buttons, then in the macro window, switch the functionality of that button to "Press-Hold" and give it a time of 1 SEC. Now, in the "Before" tab of that macro window, drag your "Volume +" code INTO THE MACRO WINDOW (Not, onto the remote view). double click the code in the macro window. A little pop-up will appear asking about number of repeats, and an option to have the button "Repeat while Pressed". Make sure that option is unchecked and reduce your number of repeats to 1. Now repeat the same procedure exactly for the "After" tab of the Vol control. Only this time, select 2 or 3 repeats, and make sure that the "Repeat While Pressed" option is selected. Rinse and Repeat for the Vol Down command. If you have any questions concerning the functionality of Krell in conjunction with URC, please drop me an email (in my profile) with an obvious Subject header so I don't round-file your email.
