I made a little cable that connects the 250 directly to the back of my NHT Processor. It seems to work ok (but just, as some commands take a couple of tries). I read recently that the output on the 250 is high and a resistor might be necessary (330 ohm?). Will this help reduce the errors? Where do I install the resistor? Will bad things happen to the Controller if I don't use a resistor? Thanks

If it works, then it should be fine.

Most often the output of the MRF-250 is to high for the IR input to accept. Then adding a resistor would lower it.

Thanks. Sorry to be a dope. If I did want to try the resistor, if nothing more then to try to reduce the number of errors (usually, just requiring me to punch the same button again) how would I do it? Would I just solder it into one of the leads (but not touching the other) of the jack, one end to the wire the other end of the resistor to the jack? Or would I solder it across the jack one end to each lead of the jack. Again, apologies, I can solder, I just don't know from where to where...

I thought it was a 100 ohm resistor. The outputs do run very hot, so be careful. Call URC tech support or speak with Eric Johnson on this matter.

The resistor gets installed right in the emitter line.

The MRF-300 and MRF-350 have been designed to be hardwired to components.

Thank you,
Damon DG

Thanks, How do I get a hold of Eric Johnson?
