For the life of me, I cannot get the MX-850 to function like an apple remote. I searched the file area, the forums, tried setting the IR codes to AUX-APPLE-MAC MINI to no evail. Please, is there anyone out there kind enough to post an mxf file?

Thanks in advance!
Brad

I didn't have any trouble learning the codes into MX-850. Have you tried?

The codes in the IR database should work fine. Be sure you do not have learned commands on those buttons, as they will override any commands from the IR database.

Be sure you are pointing the remote at the power light, which is where the IR sensor is.

Thank you,

Tried learning. Tried the IR database. No luck. I did just put on some ferrite cores onto the MRF-250 last night. Haven't had a chance to check the apple tv again. Do you think that interference may be the problem?

Does it work via IR?

If it works via IR then the I would try repositioning the IR blaster. Try over the light rather than the IR receiver -- someone on another thread this worked for them.

Rule #1:
Get it working via IR BEFORE trying to deal with RF and repeater issues. Like Mitch said, we have found that the IR 'eye' is not the round black thing that you would expect it to be. It is in fact the blue light. Position your eye over that.

I stopped using the MRF-250 due to it's inconsistancy issues. If you find that even when you locate the IR location you are experiencing inconsistancy, you could try using 1 layer of blue painters tape under the emitter. I cant recall how strong the IR output of the 250 is, but I believe it was considered a bit on the strong side. It could be overpowering the AppleTV sensor.
