codes for Phil 63" out of ProntoEdit Pro to MX-850?

While I finally found the 63PF9631/D-37 listed in the new ProntoEdit Pro factory database, I cannot get IR codes, in any form, from the program. Does anyone know how to export them, in any format, so I can convert them to .ccf?

To their credit, I got offers of some help from both Philips and from URC. I am waiting to see if Philips technicians actually contact me with the discrete On and Off codes, plus those for direct inputs.

URC offered to convert pcf codes for me, but first, obviously, I need the codes. Thanks to URC!

For those still with the thread, I accessed the factory database via 'My Database', selected the TV; added it, then tried to look at the IR codes via 'Properties'. I see nothing but zeroes, in the RC5, RC6, etc. formats available/ This is.I think, under the learning area, which is not helpful.

I am in pretty good shape with the programming of the 850, but its not having a 'smart' on/off status, the only alternative I know of in my function-oriented program, is to send discrete ON with each activity button. I can use a the toggle power in a system shutdown macro.

I can even use a (clunky) lengthy macro to select the proper input from each device, failing my getting discrete codes for direct access.

Thanks in advance. You guys are great! Mike

Which codeset are you using in ProntoPro and how do you know it works? If you let me know the codeset I can convert for you.

Thanks, Tweeter.

Not having a Pronto r/c, I cannot test any of the codes.

I found the TV listed in the factory database and have added it to 'My Database' in the program. W/O the remote, it seems I am stuck. I cannot pull any codes from it, for conversion.

OK in the factory database there should be a codeset assigned for the TV, what is that codeset?

As sent from Philips:

"I have forwarded you request to the tech departement where it will be
handled regarding the CCF file.

In the meantime, be sure to have loaded the latest codes from
www.pronto.philips.com as the code for your TV is known to be :

1522

This codeset should include the on/off button as well."

This did nothing for me. Hopefully, it means something to you. Thanks again.

Well, this sucks. My HT setup is dead in the water for lack of a discrete ON code. Maybe I should just take the Philips 63" back and get a different manufacturer's plasma.

The Pronto Database is not very consistent about Discrete On commands. Even if you could convert the command you found, it would probably be a power toggle mislabeled as On.

Philips TV's are a little more consistent than that in the way they encode Discrete On.

If I had a few of the learned signals for the TV, I could probably make a good guess at the discrete On and Off commands.

My email is in my Profile. I assume you can export the learned signals as an .mxd file. I can decode them from my MX-850 and guess and re encode the discrete signals and put them into a CCF file in the form that Universal Browser understands.

Thanks, John. I received the following codes from a great guy in NYC. The ON works well and is a Godsend, but the OFF doesn't. I use the toggle for shutoff, okay for now. We'll see, as my program develops and morphs. He also posted them in a .ccf file, which the Universal Browser can use.

Power Off
0000 0073 0000 000C 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0CA4

Power On
0000 0073 0000 000D 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0CA4

I know little about Hex codes, but find it curious that the Off code has two more elements; wondering if a typo rendered an otherwise useful string, nonfunctional.

I, and another, are looking for discrete input codes, now. Philips says the code is 1522, but I am guessing that is for the Pronto database; not useful to me.

Clues on the discrete inputs?? thanks.

There is no typo. The RC5 protocol, in this format, varies a little in length.

Those commands are both RC5 protocol, and both device code 0. One is function 61, the other is function 63.

I'll check some other sources later to see what function numbers are typically discrete commands in RC5 device code 0 for Philips brand.

'Kupakai' was, once again, awesome in his effort and help on the AVS forum. He sent me the entire file, which includes a working OFF and various discrete inputs.

Thank you so much johnsfine.

I hope some others with this TV get help, now.
