Ran into an interesting problem programming my MX-850, wondering if anyone else has seen this. I want to make the commands on my MAIN page span across both slots horizontally (ie: "WATCH" "TIVO"), and then have both the left and right button next to that command do the same thing. I set up the screen this way, then programming in the setup macro for the "TIVO" button, and finally linked the "WATCH" button to the "TIVO" button via shortcut. This works great in other areas (linking a devices On button to the setup macro on the main page, for example), but for whatever reason, when downloaded to the remote, the macro on "WATCH" is ignored, and I'm just taken the the fake WATCH device page.

The workaround I came up with was to manually recreate the TIVO macro on the WATCH button (rather than shortcut to it), but thats not as elegant, as it means I need to update both whenever I need to make a change.

Any ideas? Has anyone else been able to shortcut a macro from one device button to another device button on the MAIN page?

Thanks! -james

I pretty regularly shortcut the main ON button to the upper left WATCH button. Don't know why you are in trouble...

When you do your shortcut, using the dropdown list of buttons, your macro should appear with a green icon to the left of the button, indicating a macro exists there. Check it to make sure you have indeed short-cutted (sp?) to an active macro.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
