I just got an XA2 and have been trying to get the discrete OFF programmed into my MX-3000. So far no joy!

Based on threads I found here and at the AVS forum this code should work:

Power Off:

0000 006D 0022 0002 0157 00AC 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0689 0157 0056 0015 0E94

I tried ProntoEdit, creating a *.ccf, which I then imported, as well as the Universal Browser’s HEX editor without success. My search in the file area came up empty as well.

I was hoping somebody could share his/her file, preferable as *.rcc, but I would also give the *.ccf file a shot.
TIA!

Eventually the "prontoedit import route" worked for me. See instructions here:

Waffles (and Surf Remote, of course :-), thanks much for the info. Waffles, do you know whether this code will also work for the XA-1??

I believe the XA1 is the same as the A1 in that regard. The new discretes don't work with the 1st generation models.

I do not have any first hand experience (I just upgraded from an A1 which does not have discrete off). However, I seem to recall that the XA-1 also has discrete off - it is not included in the URC database, though.

Why don't you just try the code?

I'll give it a try, although my recollection is that Surfremote is correct - the codes for the X-2 won't work with the X-1.

I will say, however, that I've not had a single failure to receive an 'on' or 'off' code with my X-1 in a rather involved macro, despite the lack of descrete codes. This, by the way, is in contrast with a Pioneer DV 59 which caused me nothing but grief - despite having discrete codes. So, I guess I can't complain....
