What are rdf files

I'm not sure whether there is some other kind of rdf file, but in JP1 remote controls the rdf file describes various details of a specific kind of jp1 remote. Several JP1 programs (primarily IR.exe and RemoteMaster.jar) use rdf files so they can support additional models without program changes.

and can they be used somehow on the
MX-3000?

The rdf files I just described have NO uses outside of programming JP1 remotes. Some of the other JP1 files can be used outside of JP1 programming (by taking data from them for input to MakeHex, to produce ProntoHex. For an MX-3000 you would then use IrPanels.exe or Hex2ccf.exe to make a ccf file for input to universal browser). But rdf files don't have that type of information.
