Hello,
I have an MX-3000/MRF-350 that I've been programming over the past few weeks. I have run into a very weird problem. When I'm displaying the page on the remote that controls my DVD player, the buttons for the volume and mute do not work with the receiver unless I point the remote directly at the receiver. Then it works ok. For some reason, the IR signals from the MRF-350 don't work when the DVD page is up on the remote. Any other page, and the singals from the MRF-350 work ok to control the receiver. Note that the volume and mute controls work ok when other than the DVD page is up on the remote screen. So I know that the MRF-350 works fine with the receiver and I know that the codes are programmed correctly into the remote or they would not work if I pointed the remote directly at the receiver.

So I am totally stumped at what could be wrong. It almost seems like a bug in the remote software. It just makes no sense to me that It works when I point the remote at the receiver and It doesn't when I utilitize the MRF-350. Especially when the MRF-350 controls the receiver just fine otherwise.

So any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
Bob

What is the Receiver device assigned to under RF setup: RF, IR & RF, or IR?
On the DVD device, are the volume/mute keys setup as a punch-through to the REceiver or did you drag them in manually from the device browser?

All my devices are set to IR & RF. The volume and mute keys are not setup as punch-through. I couldn't figure out how to do that so for each page I simply programmed the keys as I would program any other keys, using the IR database.

As I was typing this reply I went back into the editor to look around and noticed that the buttons on the DVD page have a green M and an orange P on them in the editor. On all the other pages those buttons only have an orange P. Not sure if that means anything but it is something different.

Thanks
Bob

I solved the problem. I created buttons for vol up/down and Mute on a hidden page and aliased them from the DVD page. That worked. Go figure. I have no idea what the issue is but now the button works for IR and RF from the DVD page. Thanks for your help.
