Philips has offered a link to the codeset for my 63PF9631, but it is in pcf format.

Do I need to use ProntoPro to feed it to ProntoEdit, then import it into URC's Universal Browser?

Thanks. mike

Since it's from Philips, it's likely that the codes in that file are in RC5 format, which means you couldn't make a CCF file directly from it that would work with the Universal Browser. You can open it with ProntoEditNG, then take a look at the IR data. If the code string doesn't begin with "0", cutting and pasting it to a CCF will not give you a useable CCF.

I assume that model number's not in the IR database, but have you tried some of the other model numbers? Also, with a new model, try the highest numbered codeset (ie: [PHILIPS 19]).

Thanks, neighbor. I d/l'ed both the NG and the new Pro version of the Pronto edit program.

The new version has the TV listed, but I have not figured out how to look at nor cut/paste any codes. I believe that you are right in the format, but I did see zeroes in the modes sections for RC5, RC5x, RC6 and RC6A; in system, command, data(if applicable) and RC-MM Mode for Mode, Address and Data. I don't yet know what all this is, but it doesn't sound like the code string's first number.

This new set is not in the URC IR database, but I have most of the functions working; at least the ones I have needed so far. I have macros to choose the OTA digital channels as my primary success, but the discrete On?Off codes are a stumbling block to move into the activity based macros. I hope I just need more time to check through the many ccf files I found, to see if any others have codes that will work.

I am blocked, though, by the Universal Browser's limitation to only import learned codes.

If you have codes in some other format, you can use MakeHex to generate Pronto Hex in the form Universal browser understands, and use IrPanels or Hex2ccf to convert the MakeHex output to a ccf file.

But what has been said so far in this thread doesn't make clear what form you have the signals in. I guess I'd have to look at the pcf myself to understand that and give you more specific help. Do you have a URL for the pcf? If not, you could email it (address in profile).

Sorry for the ambiguity, which stems from the lack of information on this relatively new set and limited participation by Philips. I hope their reply to me marks a new direction, of more cooperation with and support to our AV community.

The issue is discreet On/Off codes (plus input selection). The toggle On/Off works fine with the codeset I found for another set, but I've found no discretes nor any mention of this TV until I heard from Philips. They referred to code 1522, which is rather aspecific. I finally found this model (63PF9631D-37) in the newest ProntoPro program database, but I am brand new at using it and of limited experience with URC's program. I have been unable to get any hex or data of any sort from the ProntoPro program for export to another program. I very much appreciate the offers of help. I wrote again to Philips, asking for ccf codes and continue to plug away at finding the needed codes.

I am in touch with an installer in the area who has a customer interested in this set, but he needs the same; or another set with discrete codes.
