Is it possible to convert a .mxg file I found for my Pioneer Plasma model that isn't in the MX-850 database into a .mxf file so that I can load it into my 850? Tried renaming it and then importing it without success.

.mxf is a system file. .mxd is a device file. Are you sure you have .mxg file?

MXG is a system file for the MX-900. You can import codes into your MXF using the MX-850 Editor's Universal Browser (look on the button toolbar for this icon).

Hi Daniel; Thanks for the reply. To use the UB in this way would I just open it up UB and then using the file icon on UB open up the .mxg file I saved. I tried this and it won't open??? Am I missing something?

I don't know, I didn't actually try to open an MXG file using the UB, but I checked and in my version at the bottom it said it was a supported file format...

This is sort of a bug because the MX-900 editor uses the MXG extension for both system and device files. If you exported the MXG file from the MX-900 editor, it will not open with the UB. You have to import it into a blank MX-900 configuration, then save it (using "File-Save"). Then you can open it with the UB.
