Hi all,
I am sure this is pretty basic, but here it goes. I have 6 components that I want to operate, and three of them (AV receiver, DVD/CD player, and Subwoofer Equalizer) have rear panel IR inputs. I am assuming this is a much more reliable path to go down than the self adhesive flashers.
The MRF-300 instruction manual has, what appears to be instructions on how to convert the flasher to a IR input, by cutting off the flasher portion. I am not very clear on this. The manual looks like I would be left with two wires sticking out of the end. My components accept a jack, not a bare wire.
Am I missing something? Do I need to purchase other cables to make this work? Are the flashers just as reliable, and should I just use them?
Thanks Greg

I just went to Radio Shack and bought pre made cables. It was much easier and more professional looking.

Thanks RWI,
Is there anything special about the cables, or will any cable that terminates in a 3.5mm plug on both ends? What are of RS would I find it in?

All that you need to do is cut the plug end off of two separate emitters and splice the copper wires together and the silver wires together. That's it!

Why chop up perfectly good flashers? Save the flashers and buy the male to male 1/8" mono cables.

I have a Pioneer VSX-84 with an IR in. Will plug to plug work on this receiver or should I stay with flashers?
Thanks in advance, Mark
