Anyone know when more devises will be included in the serial protocol database for the MSC-400. I am mainly interested in the Yamaha RX-V1500 and Samsung HLR-6168w.
I could try to generate these myself, but with my luck I would spend hours doing it just to have them updated when I am finished.
Thanks,
Chad

We're beta testing RS232 codes right now. We have more than 200 coded and they should be available in a live update within the next couple of weeks. I can't tell you exactly what models are in beta (I'm not doing the testing) but you can always send requests to [email protected]

Rumor has it that some of the new cable boxes are coming in with live RS232. Anyone else hearing that, any any specific boxes?

Has anyone ever successfully programmed the MSC-400 using RS232 to control a Russound system? Can't seem to find any database files. Do they exist yet?

Really? That's very surprising. That would require a dedicated circuit, which would raise the cost of the boxes.

On the other hand, I'm still reeling over the fact that my cable box has an SATA and USB connection, even if I don't think they are especially useful (to me).

I'll pay you a dollar if you show me a cable box with a LIVE USB connection today. ;-) (I'd have said the same thing about the SATA six months ago, but now I've seen a few Charter Cable boxes that have turned on the SATA port.
