Been using MX850, switching to MX1000. Tried programming a 1 sec delay for the macro in front of any command so I can just touch the button to get to the page without firing the whole macro sequence. This is how I did it with the MX850 and it is working well. Doesn't seem to work with MX1000. Is there a different way of achieving this? Thanks in advance.

I assume you mean the TX-1000. If so, change the macro setting (at the bottom of the Macro window) from "Normal" to "Press and Hold". Then set the delay and program your macro in the "After" box. The TX-1000 supports having two independent macros on a single button, so the "Before" can be "Go to Page" and the "After" is your macro.

Triodemark; Can I ask you how you like the TX-1000. I know it is more of a two hander but I really kind of like the number of items you can list per page on the display. Would be interested in hearing you opinion and feelings on the TX-1000.

Mike, thank you for your fast respond. Is there any way I can transfer the lists of macros from 'normal' to 'press and hold' without having to enter all my macros over again? Also, is there a way to touch the screen and/or press a hard button (other than the light button) and the backlight will come on along with the command? I tried to put the 'light' button in the macro but it won't allow me to do that.

Shpritz, you got mail.

Yes, create some new buttons, then use the "Import Macro" feature in the Macro window to copy them to the After window on these buttons. Delete the originals and replace them with the new buttons.

It's been awhile since I used the TX-1000, but I don't think so.

While you can certainly use it as a hand held, the TX-1000 was designed to be used sitting on a tabletop or easel, so it doesn't really have hand holds (like the MX-3000). It's also the heaviest of the URC remotes.

I totally forgot about the import macro feature. Thank you for reminding me. It works beautifully.

I use copy/paste to move macros from the before to the after state.

  • Highlight the first itme in the list, hold shift while clicking on the last item in the list.
  • Right click on the highlighted list and select copy. (Or use CTRL-C)
  • Move to the AFTER state and right-click then select paste. (Or click in the macro box, then press CTRL-V)
  • Now go back and delete the original macro by highlighting everything and press the delete key on the keyboard or click the delete icon (Red X) above the macro window
