Well I have the Serial Number, so I downloaded the software and have completely configured the remote for all components, discretes, macros, etc. Much better software than ProntoEdit IMHO.

Only complaint I have so far is why a remote of this caiber and price has such a low cost display. I like the variable color options, and they should certainly stay, but with the price of OLED, LCD, etc displays coming down so drastically, you would think URC could at least included a higher resolution display, even with the same few shades of black / grey it has now. This would allow the use of channel logos, more text per button (two line?) etc.

Assuming I'll be as happy with the MX-950 as I suspect I will be, I would be willing to buy it again in the MX-950+ version with better graphics / display. Otherwise I can't imagine changing a thing.

Just thought I'd post the comment. Seems like an easily engineered upgrade to make URC a nice new chunk of change.

Adam

P.S. URC, if you do this, and need a beta tester....

Yep, very true. At this price point, it is time for URC to build in a high resolution color display.

Bluetooth too (hint, hint!).

Yeah I'd understand if displays weren't SO FRIGGIN' CHEAP! You have every Hong Kong manufacturer putting higher resolution displays on toys destined for McDonald's Happy Meals these days, so you KNOW they can't cost much :)

It would open up so many new possibilities and add value to the CI's customers (and me.) I have to imagine this is already in the works, since it's a no-brainer, but I thought I'd get some opinions.

The forthcoming MX-810 will have the hardware, although it probably won't have the software capabilities of the MX-950. Nice quality screen on it from what I've seen, though.

One remote at a time....... I'll bet the "960" will have a much improved screen. (No, I don't know if there is a 960 in the works, but I wouldn't doubt it.)
