I'm a former Harmony user that got fed up with being forced to program my remote the way Logitech dictated. I used the MEDIA button on my Harmony 659 to "try" to access DVD's in my changer. It would never work 100% due to timing issues that I could never adjust due to restrictions of the Harmony programming software. So I decided to get a MX-900.
I'm not sure if this will help anyone but I have setup the MX-900 to control my Sony 400 DVD changer in conjunction with DVD Profiler, I printed out a nice flip book that has pictures and info for all the movies including the SLOT # of the DVD.
I programmed an LCD button called MOVIES on the watch page. The user presses that button which takes them to a screen that has DVD SEL at the top of the screen and a few commonly used commands for the changer. Pressing DVD SEL jumps to a page like this:
BEGIN >
THEN
SELECT
SLOT #
THEN
END >
The LCD buttons are to the right of the text on the MX-900. So the user presses BEGIN, this sends a macro to the DVD changer to get into the DVD select menu. Then the user enters the slot # of the DVD they wish to watch. Then the user completes the selection by pressing the END button which is a second macro which finishes the DVD selection process on the changer and also boots them back to the page with DVD SEL in case they want to watch more than one movie or control the DVD changer in another way. It works really well once I got the delays right.
Here is the macro for the BEGIN button:
1 DISPLAY DVD.261
2 DELAY 3.0
3 ENTER DVD.261
Here is the macro for the END button:
1 ENTER DVD.261
2 DELAY 5.0
3 DISPLAY DVD.261
4 DELAY 2.0
5 DISPLAY
6 GOTO PAGE MOVIES - P1 (or whatever page brought you here)
