Does anyone know if the MX-990 will work with a MRF-200 RF Interface?

As far as I know, you'd need the MX-990i for RF support.

I could be be corrected on that though.

I guess my thought was do I have to buy the MRF-350 or can I use the MRF-200 (MX-800). I am thinking that I need the MRF-350 but wanted to take a shot.

It will work.
The MRF-200 was back in the wide-band days, when URC would listen to everything in the air. And consequently, everything would interfere with it.

Modern URC remotes are narrow band. And although it would be best to pair that with a more modern narrow band receiver (like the MRF-350). The MRF-200 will certainly receive the signal and work.

I have updated from old MX-850 and MRF-250 combinations, and had to update the base stations because of erratic operation.

If you are a hobbyist, you can certainly try. Professionals would probably want to upgrade for reliability..
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
