Reinstalling CCP because my Windows 7 laptop finally died. I am not having much luck running this on Windows 10. I have to use my original installer from 2013 which gets me to version 1.5.050 with no MX-1200 support.

I used to run Live Update on the old system but it's not working now. It says "update available" but then the program just terminates or does nothing (i.e. does not begin download and does not restart). Is there an alternate way to download an update? I don't need the latest version just something from the last two years.

EDIT: I think this is a Windows 10 issue. I found another 7 machine and the install seemed to go better and it is now updating. One thing I forgot to mention is at the end of the 10 installation it said to install WMDC manually. Is WMDC available for 10 or even needed to get up and running?

Did you run the installer as "Admin"?  (right-click and hit "Run as Administrator")

I run WMDC manually after install CCP with one of these:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Remote Control, Inc\Complete Control Program\USB\drvupdate-amd64.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Remote Control, Inc\Complete Control Program\USB\drvupdate-x86.exe

("C:\Program Files\..." if you are on 32 bit)

But the MX-1200 is not a CE based device IIRC so you wouldnt need it.  I need it for my MX-980s.

There are no run options, just "install". I think this is because it is an .msi file (Windows Installer Package) not an .exe file.

Note I can install and run the program, just the updater doesn't work under Windows 10.

Ahh.sorry, missed that.  What you have to do then is go to the Start menu of Windows, find the CPP icon, and Right-Click that so you can run under "Admin".  That should allow you to auto update.  You should only have to do that for the first update which fixes the UAC support for CCP.
