For some reasone on my latest install. I can't get the mx900 to send channel info for anything on the comcast motorola hd cable box. The numbers will appear on the tv but not register with the cable box.

The client called comcast and they told him that it wont work on a universal remote, just with the one they provided. Their instructions were to use the cable remote, turn on the tv, then the cable box and it should work. It did, just not with the mx900. Any ideas?

thats good question. I can only tell you that it is the hd version w/out dvr, and has a dvi out...........does this help? I actually learned all the commands manually from this one too. This box was just installed in the last week.

Probably the Motorola one? I think DCT-6200?

If so, I've never had a problem with this box. I just used the commands from the URC database.

Obviously Comcast's not sure what they're talking about. Does the original remote control the cable box?

Have you tried the commands from the URC database?

So when you try and change a channel the channel #s appear on the TV? Do they just go away after a second or two? Have you tried typing in a channel and hitting the OK button (in the middle of the arrow keys)?

In the cable box go into the menu and look for an "Autotune" setting, if it's turned off then you have to hit Enter or OK for the cable box to change.

Also check your programming and make sure the cable channel buttons are assigned or got learned in correctly and that you didn't accidentally punch through another device's channel codes into the cable box.

Yeah I'll try those. But yes the numbers will show on the tv under 100 and then they will dissapear a few seconds after that, then with anything over 100 it will show the first two then dissapear a few seconds after that.

Try three digit numbers for everything. Example 012, 003, 092, etc. Somtimes the cable box requires three digits. Also, on the last Moto box I did, it would not respond to the codes in the database, so I had to learn them. Then it worked fine.
