My MX-5000 is a fantastic remote but has some button press lag that I'm unable to get rid of. I don't recall having this lag on older URC RF remotes that I have owned.
In fact, I had an MX-980 a long time ago and can't remember if it had any lag or not.

Can anyone tell me if the MX-980 or MX-990 will have the same button-press lag or if they are a faster remote?
And by lag, I don't mean anything ridiculous. It's just enough to annoy me.
My current MX-5000 delay is set to .1 and repeat is set to 1.

EDIT:
I learned how to program the MX5000 for network IP Control.
Using that instead of RF makes it WAY faster.

Menu up/down and volume up/down are just as fast as the OEM remote now!
Night and day difference.

IP control is not as complete a solution as IR though.
Just FYI to anyone reading this. Some buttons are not available that you see in IR. Not sure if you can "learn" an IP Control button?

If you want to learn basic IP Control programming, then @BizarroTerl has a nice walkthrough here that got me going:
