Hi; I just recently pocked up a MX900 and am having trouble getting my Dreambox 7000s satellite receiver to work. I went to the IR database but unfortunately they don't list the 7000s. Some of the 500 functions work but not all. I did a search here and found the following;

[Link: remotecentral.com]

I downloaded it as it is exactly what I am looking for but can't load it onto the MX900. I tried to open the file using UB and then drag and drop but can't even get the file to open with UB. Could some kind sole take a look at the above file and let me know if it is possible to load this file onto my 900 and if so what I am doing wrong or am missing???

Thanks; Shpritz

That file you have d/l is a device file exported from the mx700/850 editor with an extension of .mxd. The way to get this into your mx900 editor is as follows.

Open mx850 editor and create a blank document.
Right click on the tree and import the .mxd file you have d/l.
Save the mx850 document as dreambox7000, you now have an mx editor doc.
Open your mx900 project and open the dreambox7000 file you created via universal browser and drag/drop the commands and test them out.

Hi Tweeterguy. Thanks for the speedy reply. I understand what you want me to do but I do not have the MX850 editor. I only have the 900 editor that I downloaded using the serial number for the MX900. On a side note I downloaded the MX900 using the serial number but did not get the most recent ir codes. I do not see a liveupdate anywhere in the editor to get the most recent IR database??? Any help would be appreciated.

You'll have to get your hands on the mx850 editor to use that file, find another file that is .mxg, have someone else program it or learn the commands manually. That's pretty much the long and short of it. The latest IR db only has the commands you already see so that is of no concern.

Tweeterguy. I figured it out and it worked. Thanks for the tips and the information. I am going to upload the 990 file to the file section for the next person. Thanks again.
