I'm thinking about replacing my 7+ year old Samsung TV wither a newer Samsung. As a long, long time MX-900 user I thought I'd look into whether I can reprogram it for a newer TV. I now see that the one I have on my PC is version 1.10.195.1014. When I try to do Live update from the About menu it stumbles.

Is there some way I can get the installer for the latest version?

I am not a URC dealer. Local guys seem uninterested in anything but setting up entertainment systems.

Thanks,

Ed

1.10.195.1014 is the latest download. There is not a newer version to download. Support was dropped years ago for the standalone editor - it is now part of the bigger CCP software suite.

That being said, the updater will take it to version = 1.10.27.1220
The trick is you have to run the program as administrator. Then the updater will work.

It runs, but fails. Says it can't find JCOM.dll. I think I now see why. The file location is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Remote Control, Inc\MX-900 Editor\JCOM.dll

However, the error report says it cant find:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Remote Control, Inc\MX-900 Editor\\JCOM.dll

So my question now is why the MX-900 live updater is putting in the extra "\".

Is that something I can change in a setting somewhere?

Hey Ed,

I'm in the same boat here. Looking to upgrade my old Samsung TV to a new model, but worried about losing support for my MX-900. Were you able to find a download for the software editor? I've been searching online for hours now with no luck.

Note that Samsung TV codes have not changed in forever. Code 656.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
