Ive been trying to figure out a way to interface a PS3 with a MSC400 for a while now. I want the HT system to turn on the appropriate equipment and inputs when the PS3 is powered on. Because the PS3 will not output video over the composite video out while using HDMI, I couldnt use a video sensor from the MSC400.

I found a Xantech CSM1 current sensor and CBCSM1. CBCSM1 will send a 12V trigger out to a MCS4000 voltage sensor when the CSM1 senses the PS3 has been powered on. This appears to be a perfect remedy but a bit pricey at $135 or so for all the components.

Does anyone know if there is a way to utilize just the CSM1 without the CBCSM1? Or any other method of achieving this with a MSC400?

Thanks

John

doesn't URC make a voltage sensor?
If it ain't broke, you're not trying hard enough

Are you using HDMI for audio too? If, so does the toslink output at the same time as HDMI for audio? You could use a toslink to coax converter and put the video sensor on the coax. If you are using toslink use a splitter and do the same thing. Toslink to coax converters can be found for under $25.

Hope this helps.

Im using HDMI for video and toslink for audio.

Is there any sound quality loss when you split a toslink?

Who makes the toslink to coax converter?

Thanks

No loss when you split it.
Dayton makes one, can be found at parts express. Also, I think monoprice has one.
