It's been a while since I've done any URC remotes from scratch and I need a recommendation as to which model to get, if I can pin it down to one model. The client would like similar remotes in different locations. I'd like to use the same model and set them up to operate similarly.https://100001.onl/

They'll use RF where needed, and IR routing in at least one location (the dreaded two TVs in the gym you've read about).

There's a home theater with several sources; a couple of locations that are TV, cable box, https://1921681254.mx/ and DVD player. The gym with two cable boxes and two TVs. I'm using different brands of TV in this room. The locations that are just cable box and TV are going to use a cable company remote.

They've had, and hated, a Logitech remote in the home theater. They consider the theater broken although I could pick up the remote and work it.

I don't require a touchscreen remote and I don't see any advantage to using one, though I'd like to know if there really are any.

I know this is vague, but some ideas would help. Thanks.

Using the same model in each location is the only sensible thing, so the familiarity will make every room usable!

Then it comes down to which model you choose. I think the 890-990 are the only ones to consider. The 990 is head and shoulders superior for viewability and hard button visibility.

talk to your URC rep about getting set up with Total Control.  It's so much better for multiroom systems like this.
