I have decided to upgrade from MX-890 to 990 and haven’t purchased the 990 yet, but have gone ahead and programmed the remote on my computer this evening anyway. It has been quite awhile since I have programmed my two 890’s that I use. I have got everything done, all the devices entered, all the macros, but I’ll be darned if I can remember how to program the favorite channels. I have all the channel icons plugged in, however I can’t remember how to enter the actual channel numbers. Can someone please help me with inputting the numbers for favorite channel numbers?

I got the software legally when I purchased a remote years ago from Surf Remote’s, they sent it with the remote that I purchased from them when I purchased an MX-780, in fact I bought two 780’s from them and I got two sets of software from them. I don’t do this everyday and kind of bumbled my way through, but I got it almost all the way to the end except for that one little roadblock. Thank you for any help you can provide me with....Pat

Each channel icon requires a macro.

ABC - (cable) 7, delay 0.5 sec, (cable) 0, delay 0.5 sec, (cable) 7
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Tom, I appreciate your response and I uploaded the remote from my bedroom remote and you are exactly rightt, thank you, however I can’t get the commands to work. I ended up trying the entire setup for my Florida room and favorite channels on a 890, basically the same as what I have for my bedroom and I can’t get it to work. I used the same remote that works in the bedroom cable box and Florida room cable box, but when I download the new setup to the same remote everything works perfect except the favorite channels, which I thought I replicated the files from one to the other, but apparently not somehow. I’m not sure what I’m doing differently, but I’m obviously making a mistake somehow. I hate to be a pest, but any ideas?

If I had to guess, being I can't see the programming, I'd guess you dragged commands from the IRDB into your macro rather then aliasing them from the device pages. If you are using a basestation with IR routing, dragging from the IRDB is an issue. Actually, you should never drag codes from the IRDB directly to a macro window.
