I want to build a Home Theater PC. I won't need a keyboard to type in much, however, I will need to move a cursor around and click (basically a mouse).
Is there a way tomget the MX-980 to move around like a mouse and accept clicks so I can select files? I know i can hook up an IR MOUSE, but I don't want another device on my coffee table

Maybe buy one of those snazzy LG TVs and call it a day 😀

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |

yes there is a way, but it is messy and you won't end up being happy with it.
can I suggest that you give up this idea before you begin?
home theater pcs are outdated at this point. build a plex server with a NAS drive and use a Roku running the Plex app for your TV interface and you will save whatever hair you have left on your head.

Back in the day I learned codes from a Microsoft media center ir keyboard with mouse. As duct said, you will not be happy with trying to emulate a mouse. However I was able to use keyboard commands to do everything I needed for a media pc.
