Heard someone was charging their 990 thru the usb computer port. Can this be done or is damage being done?

I normally charge with the pedestal but occasionally it's connected for a while and it's charging.

I noticed the charging icon on the display when connected to my laptop for programming. Based on that, I’d say it would work.
