I've never run into any issues before with the factory key repeat rate (when held down). But a new installation for a cable cutter using PS Vue on Roku is causing me trouble.

This configuration seems extremely responsive to a key press resulting in difficulty in moving the selection cursor from just one object to the next. It generally skips 2-3 spots unless an EXTREMELY quick keypress is used.

I have the worst offending keys "Minimum Repeat When Pressed" set to "1" and the "Repeat while button is pressed" also set to "1" but while that reduces the skips it is not enough to stop them. Because the client wants to be able to move easily thru menu/guide selections a button Repeat is needed, but there needs to be a pause from the initial press until another key code is sent.

I have searched everywhere but can find no MX-1200 parameter to control a key press repeat rate. Is there any way to set it to some slower (eg, 200-300 ms) rate than the 50ms time it seems to be at?

Help.
This seems like a simple request that someone must know the answer to.
Please advise and thanks.

Wow! A dealer that thinks he knows it all wants the laymen to help. Maybe you should take the training course over.

Huh?

KenSmith58- I sure as heck don't know it all and your comment was inappropriate and uncalled for.

It appears this feature isn't available and I never learned about it before, but am hoping it might be a new enhancement that someone now knows about.

Go to the IR command for the offending button press. Double click the IR code. deselect repeat while button pressed. Change the repeat value to 1, then reselect repeat while button pressed.

musictoo - thanks but as my original post stated, that is what I have already done and it is not adequate. The problem is even with a repeat value of "1" as long as the key remains depressed it is fired off with a key repeat burst rate of 50ms? (or whatever the factory default is).

With each of these firings, there is only 1 IR code set (repeat value=1) but it is being sent every 50ms? (or whatever the URC default is) this looks to the target equipment like multiple fast key presses, and in the case of cursor move actions causes the cursor to "fly" which makes it hard to skip ahead only a single space/icon/cell at a time. The only solution is to make an absurdly quick key press.

I am seeking to make the "key" repeat at a slower (eg 300ms) burst rate, which in conjunction with the IR Code (repeat value=1) single code output, results in only one code being sent each 300ms (or whatever the key burst rate is).

do you always have to act like a child?

I reviewed your other topics, and even when offered help, you act like a complete prick.

this guy asked for help and has never interacted with you, yet you treat him like shit because he is a URC dealer?

Good luck getting any answers to your questions on this forum again.  at least from me.

You didn't state whether you deselected repeat or not. We do a lot of Rokus and once these two steps are performed, we haven't had any issues.

In my original post I indicated.....
"I have the worst offending keys "Minimum Repeat When Pressed" set to "1" and the "Repeat while button is pressed" also set to "1" but while that reduces the skips it is not enough to stop them. "

Was there something more than that, punter16, that would be helpful to know?

BTW- it only seems to be "PS Vue" that seems to have the worst problem. When trying to move thru the recorded DVR episodes for a selected program and using the left/right cursor key on the remote, generally multiple episodes will be skipped rather than smoothly going from one to the next in sequence. To move a single episode it is necessary to make an extremely quick cursor key tap.

Since there have been no posts here with info on modifying the URC key repeat rate timeout, I'm guessing it is just stuck at the factory nominal 50ms rate.

You may be better off posting this on the URC Control Room or in the URC Slack channel.

As an alternate idea, what if you set those repeats to 0 and see what happens?

Next idea. Set it to zero or one and uncheck the checkbox. Tell the client that is for individual skips. Set up two more buttons in the LCD for giant skips and leave the check box checked for that.
