I've been using URC remotes for over a decade. I especially enjoy my MX-980. It's been my go to remote for many years. I've been programming it with the old MX-980 editor, which I've used to add numerous unique macros and graphics. These personalizations really make watching TV/movies/... more enjoyable. I do not have the newer CCP software. Another thread on here mentions that there is a firmware upgrade related to the CCP software, which removes backwards compatibility with the older MX-980 software.

I have the MX-980 software *.rcf file saved on my PC. If I get another MX-980 remote, will I be able to download the contents of this older rcf file to the new remote using the MX 980 editor, making it function like my original MX-980 remote? Or will my older software no longer work on remotes with the CCP firmware? Another thread mentioned there is a factory reset type command sequence that may help, such as holding power and mute, while inserting battery?
