What is the difference between these two RF base stations other than appearance and the 260 being newer?
I have read a lot of negative comments with the 250.

the biggest difference is that the 250 is junk, and the 260 is less junk, but still junk.

go with the mrf350

260 is much less susceptible to interference than the old 250.

Many see issues with the 260 also, but it seems some regions or some setups are more interference prone than others. I personally have dozens of 260s working in the field, so ymmv. I also only had occasional issues with the 250. Moving the base station around is occasionally needed, then it's good to go.

The 350 has 6 emitter outputs vs. 4; it has a separate antenna that makes it a better bet for many setups.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

MRF-250= Wideband RF (worked with mostly older models, now discontinued)

MRF-260= Narrowband (works with all current models)

Also the mrf 250 has 6 emitter outputs while the mrf-260 only has 4, but 2 of those 4 outputs are adjustable. And lastly if I remember correctly the outputs on the mrf-250 are smaller than the standard 3.5 mono jacks that most ir and rf systems use.

Yes, 250 uses 2.5mm vs 3.5mm on every other base on the market from every other manufacturer. It's infuriating when swapping one out.

They made a mistake! They got the production samples from the factory and tested them exhaustively. They all met the specs. They were approved for ordering.

But they neglected a simple thing, which the OEM's engineers overlooked, too: they saw the little jacks used for the LEDs and assumed they were the same size as those on all other products. They didn't actually try to stick an LED from previous products into them. They weren't the same. Oops.

That small mistake is still pissing people off.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
