Hey all,

First time poster here looking for some help troubleshooting an ongoing issue with my MX-450. Just a little bit of background--we have a home theater system installed professionally by a local shop. Everything works (and sounds) great except the MX-450 remote that has an issue with input delay, double input, or failure to input. It consistently jumbles the inputs so badly that it takes three or four attempts to input a channel correctly, or to navigate to an item within the guide (after selecting the wrong item a few times)

This affects only the keys on the remote itself and not the macros, which function flawlessly. The macros were programmed by the installers and the system functions just well enough for them to tell me that the input issues are "normal." Somehow I don't believe that to be true, so I need a little help!

System info:
URC MRF-260
URC MX-450
ATT UVERSE STB - Arris VIP2500
Denon AVR-S920W

Thanks for any advice you can give!

first time post for for me today. My issue is almost the same. delay's after you press a button. Cant control volume and pressing the main button for 3 seconds does nothing. Can't program. Looking to see if there is a reset for the remote. hope someone could help us.

" It consistently jumbles the inputs so badly that it takes three or four attempts to input a channel correctly, or to navigate to an item within the guide (after selecting the wrong item a few times)"

So it's not the "input" or "source" that's the issue, it's the channel selection from your AT&T cable box when you manually press the buttons to find a channel?

Understand that the macros were derived from the commands on the remote, so if the macros work flawlessly, then in turn the buttons should as well. Sometimes when you select channel buttons there is a delay needed for the cable box to respond to each numeric selection. When selecting them manually, you may be pushing the buttons too quickly and the cable box can't keep up- slow down your manual channel button pushing. In addition, some boxes may respond better with an "enter" or "select" command at the end of the numeric button press sequence. When you mention the macro's working flawlessly, are you referring to the "Favorite Channels" that the MX-450 features?

"Delay's after you press a button"- can you expound on this a bit?

Can't control volume typically speaks to the "copy and paste" feature, also known as punch-thru. it's likely it wasn't programmed correctly, but not knowing the extent of your system (tv audio? receiver audio?), it's hard to determine the issue. What do you want to accomplish by pressing the main button for 3 seconds- return to the main page?

There is factory reset which will delete all the programming and factory default it. Press and hold the MAIN button for 5 seconds and release. This takes you to the programming menu where you'll ultimately find a factory default option.

You may be better served hiring a professional that has been trained in programming URC remotes if you want to see this remote perform at its best- just sayin'.

Keep in mind that the AT&T box you are using is very poor with aftermarket remotes.

The ones I have set up have had a ton of delays and missed keypresses. The location of the emitter on the front of the cable box is critical. I can usually make it work, but nowhere near as well as the factory remote. That box is junk.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
