A client went out and bought a TCL brand "Roku TV" (S401/S403/S405 series) prior to consulting me, and is asking her MX remote be reprogrammed for same.

I don't see any TCL discretes in the r/c database, and although there's a number of TCL models in the latest 3.8.x Complete Control IR library, there's no mention of any s401/403/405.

There is a device model "[TCL 3]" (setup # 749) that separate power on/off commands, however.

Has anyone deal with these TCL Roku TVs and had success in programming a URC remote with discrete power and inputs?

Thank you.

Just did one and it was in the urc database. Don't have the code set in my iPad unfortunately 😉

Note that it boots to the Roku screen so you have to delay then enter to get to an HDMI input.

Goofy but client had it so I made it work.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Do you recall, was the one you selected under the "TCL" entries, or other? The TCL models I've seen in URC db only include "power" toggle

Home = Discrete On
OBC 24 = Discrete Off

All other discretes are on JP1 site. Includes discretes for all inputs and several streaming services. Anybody who makes a living programming remotes should learn how to search and use JP1 upgrade files.

Thanks - though I'm not sure how the JP1 devices codes would help nor can be transferred to a URC remote ... am I missing something?

fwiw, we don't really do universal remote programming any longer; that's a legacy part of our business, and in this case we're trying to help an older client.

IRScrutinizer plus JP1 codes equals pronto hex. I've been converting these codes for about 20 years, and I'm not in the remote programming business either.

But since you're the one getting paid for this, not me, I'll leave the conversion to you.

Here's most of OBC 24, so you can check your work:

closing this thread out, the TCL code set in URC library for model "55US57" worked perfectly for this Roku TV model
