I just got a new laptop that I also want to use for programing my CCP devices. My mx-890's work without issue. However, my laptop will not recognize my MX-980? I have already adjusted the "Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity" per the URC reco. However, my laptop still does not recognize my remote. I checked in device manager and there is not an "unknown device". Any suggestions? This is a new laptop, so it is USB 3.0 only. Thanks!

Have you tried clicking on the unknown device and manually installing the driver?

This worked foer me today:

I could not connect my MX-980 via CCP when I upgraded to windows 10. I tried all the suggestions on the forum and they did not work. I called URC and they gave me the following solution that worked.

Right click on the windows icon on the taskbar, select Computer Management, select services and applications,

Select Services, Select "Windows Mobile-2003 based device connectivity, select log on tab, unselect "This account", select Local system account, the check off Allow service to interact with desktop.

Reboot

Run CCP, try to download file. It will probably hang. Unplug remote, the replug back in. and try again.

Should work now.
