I realize this remote is probably most people's least favorite URC remote, but I adore mine. Unfortunately, the up directional button has become unresponsive on my very old mx-810.

I'd like to replace it with a newer model that has a similar (read excellent) hard button configuration. I used to work in CCP. So going back to a non-wizard based programming method is no problem.

Is there a remote that CI's on here in particular like for people like myself? Mx-780 or Mx-890? Looking for something more mid-range professional. I have 7 components and about 10 macros. It's pretty basic, but I love having flexibility, a color screen, hard buttons, and pc programming. Before you ask, I have a CI that is willing to give me the latest CCP if I don't do programming through him.

I much prefer my MX-890 over my MX-780. It's lighter, thinner, more ergonomic, has a larger screen, is more customizable, and the tactile feel of the buttons is much better.

But the MX-990 is the star of the show!

Bigger screen. Good feel. Hard buttons brightly lit. Worth every penny.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

I loved my MX-810, had so many (one for each tv) and would replace with same when broke. I finally replaced one with the MX-780 which I like, but then replaced another with the MX-890 which is now my favourite due to the it's ability to customize etc. Want to replace all with the 890 but it's not cheap!

For what it's worth, the 990 is even more customizable. I prefer that form factor, but lots of people like the 890 instead.

That seems to be the consensus! People love one or the other. I guess I'm going to have to personally try each out to see if the extra cost for the 990 is worth it.
