If I set up my PS3 using the radio shack parts etc, will I be able to control the DVD?
BTW: I own the PS3 remote but won't help since its bluetooth correct?

Define "Radio Shack Parts". And for what are you using them? The PS3 does run on Bluetooth, so no love there. Apparently, you can use some of the IR codes of the PS2, if you use the PS2 remote device.

I'm using an MX-950 with a PS3 per Daniel's instructions here. The PS2 remote and IR receiver can be had for less than $10 and the Radio Shack PSX-to-USB adapter is about $12. No On/Off controls, but you do get full control over BD playback.

Damon, the BDP-S1 codes were just added to the IR database (Ver. 1.79).
