Hi, I am looking at getting an MRF-400 for use with MX-990, for the purpose of storing IR-macros triggered by an RF signal.

There are no installers selling this in Norway, so I need to try to buy it on the net, and have some questions:

1. Will the two units work together?
2. Is it possible to fins MRF software anywhere?
3. I have programmed an MX-3000, MX-900 and MX-990 with little trouble. Will I be able to program the MRF-400?
4. I will use a Windows 7 64bit PC to program the MRF. Are there drivers available for this?

I am willing to buy this "officially" if I can, so let me know if there is anyone who has this? I am not trying to save money by buying this in an unauthorized manner, I am just trying to get an MTF-400 :-)

So, do you want an mrf-400 or an mtf-400?

I'm willing to bet you're gonna have a hard time finding either, anywhere.

If you looked for an MSC-400, you might find one, but start looking for a computer to program it also, cause your windows 7 64 bit will not work. 32 bit only

1.  If you are talking about an MSC-400, yes it will work with an MX-990
2.  It programs using Complete Control Program (CCP)  URC leaves it up to the dealer whether they want to provide this software to you.
3.  You should be able to figure it out.  Basically, all your macros get done on the MSC400, and you drag the triggers onto your MX990 macro buttons.
4.  No, you have to have a 32 bit machine or use Windows XP Mode.  The MSC400 has a physical limitation that makes it only work on 32 bit, there will never be an updated driver for it, since it is a hardware issue.

1. Sorry, yes MSC-400!

2. OK, I have CCP.

3. Great

4. Hmm, need to find a 32 bit machine then. But the issue isn't with programming (since CCP works well on my 64but PC), but on uploading to the MSC-400? So I could do all the programming on my regular 64bit PC, and the only use an old laptop or something for the actual physical connection?

Correct. You can only make the usb connection with a 32 bit pc. You can do all the programming with your 64 bit computer.
