Hi,

first off, before anyone unleashes a fatwa on me, there are no sellers, resellers or installers of URC remotes in Norway where I live, at least none that I have been able to find after extensive and exhausting searches. I have therefore bought my MX-3000s, my MX-900 and now my MX-990 on line. I have programmed a number of remotes myself, although I am an amateur. I had no issues with the 900, but am running into some difficulties with the 990, and would appreciate any help from you guys.

I am NOT trying to screw installers out of their income streams, if there are any here that can help me program by remoting in I will gladly pay, but as of now I am left to my own devices and the expertise of this forum...

1. Is there a Programmer's Manual for this remote? I have the User's Manual and the Programmer's Manual for the 980, but not the 990.

2. I am using a PC running Windows 7. When I plug in the MX-990 I hear a pleasant sound from the MX-990 and the typical USB plug and unplug sound, but the PC doesn't seem to register the remote, there is no downloading of drivers or anything like that as far as I can see. When I try the 'Get from remote' option to Upload the existing config on the supplied remote to CCP, I receice error messages stating first "Unable to obtain model ID" and then "Upload Error. CompatibilityCheckFail".

3. Is there any way I could use my existing 900 config as a basis for my new 990 config?

Looking forward to some urgent help, especially with # 2 aboive, for right know I can't get anything done...

Solved this issue, secret was to plug the MX-990 directly into the PC, not the desktop hub.

As for ## 1 and 3 above, would still love some help :-)

#3 no.

#1 not sure. Where are you stuck?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Not really stuck, would just be good to have a manual. The closest thing is the 980 I think, but that still operates with a hard button Watch and Listen set-up, so slightly different logic. But I am getting there :-)
