In my HT I have an MX-780 which controls my components via an MRF-350. Everything is working great except it takes time for the projector to turn on and warm up.

I have a Lutron HW lighting system which I use to set the lighting scenbe for the theater from the top of the stairs. I would love to be able to have the same button press turn on the projector and AVR so that by the time I get downstairs, things are almost ready.

Any suggestions to how to send an RS-232 command from the HW processor to a URC device that will then send IR commands to my components?

Thanks.

Thanks. I thought it did RS-232 outputs only.

I actually have one of those, so if it will do inputs I am golden.

It does only output RS-232 but you could use the lighting sensor to trigger the MSC-400. Tell the MSC-400 it is a voltage sensor. Unless the Lutron has a voltage trigger.

Mine does not. It is the Wireless processor. I have a Series 8 sitting around I could put in, but that is a lot of work for the relative gain.

Can accept RS-232? or voltage triggers.

How about a Lutron switch programmed to turn on with the theater scene.

Wire switch to 12v power supply, 12v out to sensor, sensor macro to turn on the system.
